A meeting with Speaker of the Sri Lankan Parliament – Hon. Karu Jayasuriya and Most Ven. Ming Sheng Thero – Vice President of the Buddhist Association of China and President of the Guangdong Province Buddhist Association took place on 17^th June 2016 at the Speaker’s official residence at Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte. Mr Sumathi Dharmawardena – Hon. President, Col. (Retd.) Sudath Madugalle – General Secretary, Mr Ajith Dharmawardena – Vice President, Mr. Thisath Wijegunawardena – Member of Executive Committee of Sri Lanka China Buddhist Friendship Association took part in this meeting and discussed about strengthening Buddhist friendship between Sri Lanka and China. Hon Karu Jayasuriya spoke about the development of needy Buddhist Temples in rural areas of Sri Lanka with the Chinese delegation led by Most Ven. Ming Sheng Thero. Madam LI Xiuying – Deputy Director of the Religious Affairs Bureau of Guangdong Province also took part in this said cordial meeting.
